Souss-Massa Argan Honey
When you open this jar of argan honey, you enter with us into the argan forests of Souss-Massa, trees that grow alone in the arid lands between Agadir, Essaouira, and Marrakech, and where our Saharan bees forage on flowers as rare as they are precious.
Origin
This honey comes from the nectar of argan tree (Argania spinosa) flowers, a tree endemic to Morocco and iconic to the landscapes of Souss-Massa and the semi-arid zones of the south.
Argan trees form a unique forest, renowned for the fruits from which the famous argan oil is extracted. Their flowers also give rise to a rare honey produced in limited quantities, a precious reflection of this exceptional Moroccan terroir.
The hives are set up in the heart of the argan groves, in areas where the trees provide a flowering source that can be harvested by the bees. Our colonies are made up of local bees, notably yellow Saharan bees, naturally adapted to arid conditions and capable of working in environments where drought is a part of daily life.
The honey is harvested artisanally, without blending or heating, with particular attention paid to the well-being of the bees and the preservation of the argan terroirs: no antibiotics and no added sugar.
Color & Taste
Our argan honey has a golden color—warm and luminous—subtly reminiscent of the hue of argan kernels once shelled.
Its texture is smooth and creamy, pleasant to enjoy by the spoonful, on bread, or in a hot drink. On the palate, it reveals a sweet and refined taste, accompanied by delicate floral notes and a slightly fruity nuance.
It is an elegant honey, marked more by finesse than by power. A delicate expression of the argan tree that leaves an impression of golden and subtle sweetness in the mouth.
